333 Water
Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward is officially going vertical. Topping out at a whopping (by Milwaukee standards) 31 stories, 333 Water is shaping up to be one of the most exciting residential additions to the Milwaukee skyline in recent memory.
Though they won’t see new residents moving in until August, here’s why we think 333 Water is one of the best luxury apartment communities opening in 2024.
About The Third Ward
Located just south of Milwaukee’s downtown city center, the Historic Third Ward was ceded to the US by the Chippewa, Ottawa, and Potawatomi in 1832. New settlers arrived soon thereafter, and though the land was marshy, it’s location between the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan made it ideal for placement of warehouses and other businesses.
Industry continued in the Third Ward through most of the 20th century, with significant gentrification efforts beginning in the late 1970’s. During this period of development, the Summerfest grounds were opened on the southeastern edge of the neighborhood, and many of the Third Ward’s factories and warehouses were converted into condos and loft-style apartments. New restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries began to take root around the neighborhood as well.
Today, the Third Ward continues to enhance its impressive array of amenities for residents and visitors alike. The neighborhood is the epicenter for Summerfest each year, renowned as the “world’s largest music festival.” Just a few blocks over to the east, Lakeshore State Park provides a serene escape along Lake Michigan.
Add to this the scenic Milwaukee Riverwalk, the bustling Milwaukee Public Market, and over 60 restaurants and bars, and its clear to see why the Third Ward is consistently viewed as one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in all of Milwaukee.
